Goodwill Announces New Board Chair

Board ChairGoodwill Keystone Area’s Board of Directors has elected Harris Booker as its Chair. Booker has nearly 20 years of board service with Goodwill Keystone Area, and served on Goodwill Keystone Area’s Foundation Board for 10 years. He is a past board vice chair, and chaired the board’s investment committee and governance committee. 

Booker, a recently retired attorney, said, “Goodwill is blessed with a talented and engaged group of board members, and a dedicated and experienced management team. It is an honor to be elected as board chair, and I look forward to working with the board and management team in the coming years on our evolving challenges.” 

Booker holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree from West Chester University, and Juris Doctor Degree from Duke University. He retired after 35 years of practicing law in Cleveland, OH, Washington DC, and most recently at Barley Snyder in Lancaster, PA. Booker and his wife Emily are residents of Lancaster. 

“Given his long-term dedication to our mission, we are thrilled that Harry will lead our Board,” said Ron Kratofil, President and CEO for Goodwill Keystone Area.

This volunteer board serves as the governing body and steers the organization towards a sustainable future. Goodwill Keystone Area, a non-profit organization, support persons with disabilities and other barriers to independence in achieving their fullest potential as workers and as members of the broader community. Last year, 4,153 people received life-changing services from Goodwill Keystone Area. In support of the mission, Goodwill collects and sells donated items in 45 stores & donation centers in 22 central and southeastern Pennsylvania counties. Goodwill’s philosophy is that work is a building block of community and that when people are given an opportunity to work, their self-esteem increases and other problems are minimized.
