Goodwill's
vocation training programs serve individuals
who need assistance in preparing for work
in
the community.
Training
services provide adults with disabilities and other barriers to
employment the opportunity to achieve their individual goals related
to increased independence and self-sufficiency.
This
individual training could encompass:
- Life Skills
- Soft Skills
- Community Experiences
- Exploration of Vocational Opportunities
Adult
Development Training:
This
is a program for individuals with profound mental retardation that
provides independent living, socialization, and motor skill development.
These
programs utilize multiple staff in settings that promote skill building.
Adult Development Training provides the opportunity for community
integration as well as a respite for families where they continue
to be the primary caregiver.
Vocational
Training:
Vocational
training varies depending on the skills and abilities of those we
serve. These programs are offered in a variety of settings based
on individual needs.
Goals and
outcomes are determined by the skills used in the workplace setting
including personal soft skills and occupational skills.

Personal
Work Adjustment Training (PWAT):
PWAT is a service used to address the obstacles individuals may
face when working in a community work environment.
Work
Opportunities are provided through:
- Facility based services
- Mobile Work Crews/Enclaves
- Personal Work Adjustment Training
- Transitional Employment
- Work Experience
